You don't need to leave the Community of Madrid (Spain) to discover landscapes full of green, water, mountains, snow, forests and waterfalls that will clear your mind.

Madrid is full of wonderful surprises. That's why we want to show you the best landscapes of Madrid. They are waiting for you to get to know them and enjoy them, so come with us and take a walk.

The best landscapes of Madrid are not only focused on the most popular places in the capital. Its monuments leave no one indifferent and its squares are full of life and colour. There are landscapes inside and outside Madrid that are well worth a visit. If you like the mountains, the city and have an adventurous spirit, you must get to know these landscapes. Don't rule out the possibility that the most beautiful corners of Madrid are on the outskirts:

- Monasterio de San Lorenzo in El Escorial, is a silent, majestic place, where they wanted to reflect all the power and grandeur, of the past Spanish empire.

- The Valley of the Fallen is one of the most controversial Spanish monuments. Its grandiloquent beauty, surrounded by nature and breathtaking views of the surroundings, hides a dark and violent past. For better or worse, it is part of Spanish history.

- To the northeast of the Madrid Region lies the Sierra del Rincón mountain range, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2005, an area characterised by its varied landscape and rich biodiversity.

- Patones de Arriba is ideal for a getaway from Madrid and to enjoy routes through the historic centre and its natural surroundings. It is a small, quiet place, full of history, with a well-kept appearance and great architectural beauty that has been declared an Asset of Cultural Interest. It is a place not to be missed in the Sierra Norte thanks to its rural spirit, which remains intact in each of its picturesque cobbled streets and in its stone, slate, wood, adobe and Arabic tile buildings.

- La Chorrera del Hornillo: a waterfall that stretches up to 10 metres on the outskirts of Madrid. Its play between the rocks makes the place beautiful and unique.

- In the town of Somosierra is La Chorrera de los Litueros. The highest waterfall in the Madrid Region is only one hour and twenty minutes from the capital. Here you can see how the water from the springs on the summits of the mountains eventually resurges between the gigantic rocks, forming the waterfall.

- Chorrera de San Mamés. This waterfall is located in the northern part of the southeastern slope of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park. It is within the municipal district of Navarredonda and San Mamés, in the Lozoya Valley.
It is irrigated by the Pinilla stream, a tributary of the Lozoya river and releases its water from a height of 30 metres, in a very rocky area. It is located in a clearing in a Scots pine forest.

- The Lozoya valley is bounded by a series of mountain ranges, all belonging to the Sistema Central, which mark its natural limits. It is a place of great scenic beauty with countless possible routes.

- Buitrago del Lozoya is a Spanish municipality and town in the north of the Community of Madrid, located at the foot of the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range. The municipality, which has a population of 1940 inhabitants (INE 2021), is named after the river Lozoya, which surrounds the town. Buitrago stands out for the preservation of its old walled enclosure and its town centre has been declared a site of cultural interest.

- The San Juan Reservoir is the most popular water park in the Madrid Region. It is an extensive body of water of 650 hectares spread longitudinally through the port of San Juan, in the extreme southwest of the Community of Madrid, very close to the province of Ávila.

- Rivera del Guadarrama. In the western part of the Community of Madrid we find this natural area of great environmental diversity. From the base of the Madrid mountain range to the countryside of the Tagus depression, following the course of the Guadarrama and Aulencia rivers, it has three main landscapes in its territory: Mediterranean forest, riverside forest and crops or wastelands. The Regional Park of the Middle Course of the Guadarrama River and its surroundings is a protected natural area of the Community of Madrid (Spain), located in the western part of the region of Madrid.

That is one of the best drone video's I have watched! Would love to know which drone, and what settings used for those wonderful night scenes.
The video mixes drone and camera footage. The night images are shot with a Panasonic Lumix S5.

It's a pleasure to know you liked the video!
