I successfully installed the DBS Mod on my P3P and have been flying around. However, I lost signal at 4,000 feet over water and my bird returned home. My question is this, I have seen people on youtube getting 15,000 to 20,000 feet and wondering why I am losing signal at around 4,000. Mine is not boosted, are these guys doing something different than me? Just curious.

Thanks!

There might be a dozen different things involved with getting long range, and a modded controller is just one of them. Some of the other things:

1. Are you sure you did the mod correctly, with solid connections, and no pinched or bad cables inside the controller?
2. Did you use high quality cables outside the controller?
3. Is there wifi interference?
4. Is the humidity favorable?
5. Is the wind favorable?
6. Are you using a tripod or table or something to keep the controller steady?
7. Are you sure you're aiming the controller correctly?
8. You don't have the GL300C right?
9. Have you considered modding the bird?
10. Have you considered circular polarization?
11. Have you considered amps?
12. Have you considered appropriate high quality cables for those amps?
13. Are you still sure all your connections are rock solid?
14. Have you read the long-distance threads in this forum?
