Issues with the "Camera Settings" dial.

The manual says this about the right hand dial on the remote controller:

Turn the dial to adjust the camera settings such as ISO, shutter speed, and aperture without letting go of the remote controller. Move the dial to left or right to scroll through pictures or video in playback mode. Press down on the dial to toggle between these settings.

My problem is that when I move the dial it looks like I can only adjust the EV (as this is in blue). I assume that this is the aperture as it adjusts the exposure.

If I press the dial nothing changes. It will not switch to the ISO or the Shutter speed or even into playback mode to scroll through pictures. How can I get this switch to change what the dial adjusts?

This is because you have auto Mode. When you change to manual will be able to change iso and shutter
