Bulletproof? You would have to modify the firmware and the app, so no.

Atti mode won't make any difference.
In atti mode, the Phantom doesn't use the data from the GPS.
Inside a steel vessel the Phantom won't be receiving GPS sats so it will already be in atti mode before you switch it anyway.
But it will still be relying on the compass to maintain its heading.
