Is it normal for distance reading to change?

    When I start up the bird I notice the distance changes a few feet even though I did not move yet?

    The distance is calculated by GPS which is only accurate to about 5-6 feet.
    Subsequent GPS positions commonly differ by 1-3 feet and this accounts for the variation you are observing.
