Anyone has tried this? in original manual there is only a picture how to connect it to PMUv2. I am wondering if I can use that connected to upgraded PCB

Not possible as the upgrade kit does not have a CAN-bus to connect the iOSD. This is a known setback. That is why mine is still using the stock Phantom board and then I add in Zenmuse -> iOSD ->PMU.

The hub only gives you more CAN BUS ports if you have one to start with. The NAZA M-V1 without PMU does not have any CAN BUS ports to begin with, so the hub is of no use. Sorry if it got your hopes up. 
I've just confirmed that with DJI support that you need PMU for V1 to have canbus..
