When first flight manual states IOC is defaulted to off do I leave switch in course lock position or do I flip it up to off position, I do not know about others but I find manual to be pretty confusing

Leave it in the "up" position until you have seen some of the videos, keep up the reading of the manuals. That is the way you learn onthis system.
