Will an Inspire 1 controller work with a Phantom 4? I heard and read you get better signal using a inspire 1 controller ? Thoughts?

If you mean the plain original P4, it should as it works with the P3 pro and Adv and they use the same controller as the P4.
It won't work with the P4 pro

Had a quick look, JBHiFi, Riseabove in Sydney and eBay have them.

Didn't think of JB. I know when I looked on eBay, they were all coming from overseas with some ridiculous postage charges.

The JB site said subject to availability at around $850, so you may be able to order one and wait a bit. Agree with you on eBay, postage is nearly as much as the item.
