How do i turn off the sonar? i am going to record some videos on a beach with medium-sized waves, so it will probably cause some altitude problems if it is enabled and a wave goes under it.

It's not possible. You can fly in ATTI mode to prevent the Phantom from using the VPS data to correct its altitude or maybe try putting a piece of tape over the sensors. I haven't tried the latter, but a few people here said it did the trick.
It is totally possible. Can't remember where it is exactly but it's in the settings in the app somewhere. I just had to turn mine off last week for a shoot

They should of called g mode ip mode, for idiot proof. I guess DJI thought the P4 was gonna be a noob magnet so they added some unimportant features for seasoned pilots and took away any features that could mess with anything. PS I do like the P4 it's just I'm crazy.
