I needed a locator solution that had at least a mile range as I fly and shoot large wooded homesite acreage.
Look into the UAVfind.com field recovery system. It uses the 900mhz spectrum and won't interfere with DJI's electronics.
Mine has become standard equipment on a daily basis.

Good luck and fly safe !

I use Personal GPS-GPRS trackers. Mine provides a lot of SMS commands. In addition you can locate and send all commands, real time locating, view and download historical data, bidirectional calling to 2 predefined numbers, etc. from a free GPS website . Link below. It also has an Android/ iOS app as good as website.
They are very light and have 2-10 mts GPS accuracy and 20-100 mts when only reports GPRS antenna reference point. It requires a minimal Data plan and minimal SMS messages plan because the free website provides all you want. I have a 100 mb data, 20 SMS and 50 minutes call plan from Movistar at US$ 8 / month.

I mounted both on my Phantom 1 and Phantom 2 Vision+. I bougth especial 3D print mount ( view link). No issue or interference showed. Till now.
