I added a polar pro ND filter and tried turning on the phantom. From what I can see it behaved correctly, I didnt notice anything strange.

How would I know if it needs to be balanced?

When its not powered does it always tip and rest in the same position? It should sit in whatever position you set it in. If when it is powered and you can hear the gimbal motors being a little noisy trying to keep it level then it probably needs balanced. If it hibernates by disengaging then balancing is needed.

Thanks Irish.

Strangely enough I don't see it tilting or stopping, and no strange noise from the motors. Not sure why mine isnt while many of the others here needed to.

You don't need counterbalancing.... The ones that need it are just over concerned about something that is not a problem!! Put the polar pro on.. Power up.... Fly....
