Hi, I haven't got a phantom just yet, but should have a P3A in the next couple of weeks, I am trying to read up and learn as much as i can before i get it.
Is there anything that you would recommend or consider essential reading.

Derek

Hello Derek,
Welcome. I'd suggest you get the Airmaps app to know where it's safe to fly, you'll also need to register your drone with the IAA. Print out the IAA flight guidance and take note of the contents.
Read the manual, you can download it,, do a IMU calibration and always pay close attention to the guidelines on compass calibration, make sure the props are on tight, but not too tight. DJI guidance videos on their webpage are very useful.
Be methodical, particularly on the first few flights when you're learning the ropes.
Hopefully you'll be astonished by how good Phantoms actually are.. Welcome to that extra dimension that these things give us.
All the best,

Alex
