Helipad $10

Made this today. All materials about 10 bucks from Michaels arts and crafts. Other than the scalloped edges I like it. Serves its purpose. Don't mind spending dough on critical components, but don't mind saving for practical purposes. Figured I'd share.

Pretty cool... how wide is it (is that what the 18 inches refers to?) and the material doesn't get knocked around by the wash of the quad?
 
I made one also, a 2'X3' 1/4 fiber board with a 1/2" border for feet, 4 yellow strobe lights with a 12vdc pwr pack and controller on the back. Looks awesome at night. Added a handle for easy carry. Mainly for use at night or when I travel by car to a spot where I am not sure of the take off area.

This 'target' really helps hone your landing skills too.

Looks great. I'm sure the strobes look pretty cool.
 
im getting ready to build an LZ pad, shoot a video with the lights on?
