Actually you left out one item, " I have had no disconnects" at least not yet, and I have flown out to 2 miles testing the bird.

I think that was a firmware poll.

The only issue I have had with disconnects is when I take a 5 shot bracketed photo. It shows disconnected for about a second, maybe 2, then its back up again, apart from the message the bird does nothing out of the ordinary. To be honest though I'm not sure if this is down to the updated app as I didn't try this feature out on the old app.

Just for info, I installed Outlook app for IOS and that was a disaster for DJI Pilot app.. Unistalled Outlook app, I never had problems on both iphone 6+ and ipad air.
Be aware to apps that need some background work or notifications as a general rule.
