green then red

Help,
I have just begun my 9th or 10th flight, phantom 2 is about 10mo old.
batteries are puffy (2), just ordered new ones.
Anyway, began flight, all was ok then got green to red flashing then back to green.
When the red began flashing, phantom began to fall then went green and all OK.
Flying with both silver switches all the way forward.
Any help appreciated, also any links to proper battery care I have only charged them 5 or 6 times.

definitely sounds like bad batteries... you should never fly with puffy or otherwise damaged batteries it's asking for a crash... batteries are expensive but not compared to replacing a whole Phantom!

I'm sure others will give you more better advice than me but one thing I'm pretty confident on is that if you're going to store batteries for some time say several weeks or more before your next flight don't store the batteries fully charged. I think about half charge is best

I appreciate your help, will discard the batteries and wait for the new ones...$260.. for 2 ouch.

Please research LiPo care and usage to increase their usable lifetime.
This may have contributed to their seemingly short lifetime.
