Hi,

I have been designing some 3D printed stuff for a while and have started to share this through Shapeways.

All of my prints are now verified by shapeways and prints out well.

The number one sale is my petal lens and that small lightweight lens will remove your propeller shadows and add more density to your videos. Revision 4 of this model is right up and it is more tight then the previous versions. I can't design it to be 100% tight due to the tolerance of 3D printing, so you may have to add a piece of office tape to the lens to make it tight and secure. The lens is lightweigt and stays below .7 gram. Printed in a lovely black mate elastic plastic, that removes any flares! Buy one extra as a spare!

The second and most important piece I am offering is the gimbal protector. Just put it between your landing skids and secure it with a lockingstripe, and of you go. This piece of juvel protects your gimbal in case of a crash.

The third piece is the best. It is works 100% together with the gimbalprotector. It is a mounting plate for a GPS tracker. The tracker is namned TKSTAR and you dont have to pay any fees, just add a prepayed simcard. This tracker have saved me from one flyaway, and this is the mount to use! You can buy this tracker from ebay at a very low cost.

If you are sneaky, the two last things can be found on thingiverse if you own a 3D printer of you self! Free to use for personal use!

I'm not sneaky, but do have access to a printer. How about putting the lens hood on thingiverse too. That would be great. thanks.

I bought 2 of the petal lens and received them about a week ago. Initially disappointed because the radius is significantly larger than the barrel of the lens. I had to add 6 layers of office tape to give it a snug enough fit so it didn't fall off when the camera was pointing downward. Started by putting tape on lens barrel, which was a big mistake. Eventually figured out a way to place smaller strips on the petal lens itself and has been working fine for me. Works well for video and haven't lost it yet despite flying in strong hawaii tradewinds with the camera pointing straight down. I take pictures in small size and you get just a little bit of the petal lens in the shot and petal lens exposure increases if you take larger size stills. Because of the low cost, the extra work didn't bother me much since I already bought it. Had I known that the gap between the petal lens and the barrel was going to be so big, I probably wouldn't have gotten it though. However, the design itself is nice and it's low weight. Definitely feels very fragile.

rcfanhi,

I am aware of that problem and the latest version is more tight to the lens. The precision when 3D printing from shapeways is 0.2 mm and thats why I had to make it a little bit bigger. If I do it with the exact measurements, It will not slide on.

The first batch was to big, so I have made it smaller from a couple a weeks ago. A better solution is to cut of the ring in the back, and add a rubber band around. Not perfect but works just fine. By doing that, it will work fine for all sizes when taking photos!

I saw a really cool red gimbal clamp someone did, but they aren't selling them. Any chance of banging out a few of these? I'll buy 2 at least!!

Got my lens shade from Shapeways fit is perfect. Now to wait for the sun,

Joakim, you have some very nice items. They are nice and I will order at least the Petal lens. I'm a little concerned though. You say to "Buy one extra as a spare". Are you expecting me to lose the item, and suggesting a backup? Also, why not offer a discount to anyone buying 2 or more at the time of ordering?

Found some printed hoods for the H3-3D on eBay and shapeways, but shapeways said that there may be problems against wind (kiting effect I guess).

Anyone had problems with hoods?

@flyNfrank

Shapeways don't have any support for volume buying - so theres not much I can do with that!

Thanks, Joakim
