its hard to say but most likely not if a p2
easy enough to check and do, just open the top case
takes a little work but if you do you can check the gps antenna
if the original , may as well put a 4mm in for under $10

good luck and have fun flying!

thank you for the reply

i have had a look at teh 4mm antenna, unfortunately i cannot solder at all so im going to have to give that a miss.

shame really as its meant to improve the signal drastically

its one spot ,pretty easy to do but understand..
it truly does by the way make a big difference
did it to 2 p2's I had

good luck and have fun flying

btw alum duct tape for furnaces works well for shield

is this the antenna you are talking about?

DJI Phantom 1 and 2 GPS Antenna Upgrade 4mm | eBay

also i have just purchased this

DJI Phantom GPS Booster Shield | eBay

that appears to be the same as far as specs
I am in us and ordered direct to parts supplier and paid about $6 US

you want 4mm
at least 3 to5 db gain

if you do the mod you may want to scrape a bit if the plastic ribs under the area antenna sits to give a little more clearance since this is 4 vs 2mm high.

when you put top back on be careful to make sure gps wire is snug into mother board..
also use alum tape to wrap the gps wire as far as you can--no harm, no foal--
then cover with layer of tape

good luck and have fun flying.

once I change antenna the GPS lock time ( 2nd set green flash) was well under a minute and stayed locked...

I have not modded my P2 GPS and my lock is about 45 seconds after several days of non-use. This is about 15 seconds after mag./compass heading is established.
