Gopro Hero4 silver

Thinking of buying a Gopro Hero 4 silver. I currently have a Hitachi sports cam and it struggles somewhat. My question is what with the P1 being 2.4Ghz, can I use the Hero app to view what I,m filming or will I need extra equipment/weight. I may do away with the glb gimbal. If so could some please suggest what I need

The wifi the hero4 puts out will interfere with the controller / phantom. Best not to have it on since it is also 2.4ghz but definitely use it for capturing pictures/vids , GoPro also has a app where you can connect your iOS or android device to view footage and pics on your GoPro though only for GoPro hero4 cameras.
