GoPro Hero 3 White FOV

The specifications for this camera say that at 1080p it has Medium FOV.

Can anyone explain why the FOV displayed is "W"

The top left of the screen shows the video icon with a W, M, or N next to it. These letters refer to the field of view (FOV) and stand for wide, medium, and narrow.

Thanks for replying, but the white Hero 3 only does one FOV (Medium). My question was, why does it show "W".

I think it is a firmware bug.

I have now after a bit of a wait, heard back from GoPro on this issue in case anyone is interested.

"We are aware that there is a discrepancy in the HERO White edition with what the display may show when filming in 1080p. While the camera will say it is filming in Wide it is actually filming in Medium mode. Our engineers ware aware of this and will probably come out with an update to correct the discrepancy. For the mean time you do not need to worry about it saying “W” as it is in fact filming Medium as the manual suggest."
