Going in circles...

Quick question for reassurance more than anything.

No problems at all with firmware updates and had good flights. Today; took off - most probably too close to some parked cars overlooking the beach.
1) P3A on take-off (which I attempted three times) did not hover as usual and drifted in circles. Each time, I brought it in to land from about a couple of metres. Stupid me; did a calibration there after the first flight !
2) Had a compass error 'compass error exit GPS mode.
3) Weak GPS signal although I had a clear 18 satellites.

Moved the P3A to a nice clear area, recalibrate and no problems at all.

I suspect - the drone did not like having cars too near.

My P4 if closer than about 40 feet from my motorhome gives me compass errors also. Once I move away all resumes normal. When I am close to my car I get no errors so far.

Yes, that could cause such an issue. Check out the compass calibration guide for more tips on the compass dos and dont's.

Thank you kindly gentlemen - as always, the advice from this forum is invaluable. Although the manual is a 'must to read' - in the field, things sometimes work out differently to what you expect.
