Go Pro on Vision +

You'll lose the telemetry data and a lot more money out of you pocket. A good gopro setup on a p2 will cost around €2500 thats EURO so do your conversions.
Add another €1200 if you want lightbridge

Oh yeah forgot to mention, your gonna lose about 10 mins flight time with all the extra weight too.

I already have a GoPro hero 3+ though..

Then why even consider the Vision +?

not worth the hassle and costs. You will not get any better results.

Lotsa hassle but he will unequivocally get better video results with a HB3+ vs. the Vision+ camera.

Why did you buy it ? It's amazing people buy these then want to change the main features , I don't get it , you must of known something about what you were buying to end up here. Plus this question has been asked over and over , do a search.

If you want results, straight out of the box with no messing around at all then the Vision is your craft.
You can get better video results with a GoPro H3B on a Zenmuse but you have to ask yourself what you actually want. If you just want to have some fun and share some videos on YouTube then you won't care about 2.7k or Protune and will be happy just shooting in 1080p. In which case the Vision will be just as good.

Considering I have the S800 EVO for pro stuff, if I were to be buying again right now I'd get the Vision+ simply for the ease of deployment.

So why are you here , since your such a hot shot pilot ? 50cc that's all ? My last gas engine was a 75cc twin, but that was about 18 years ago , and no I wasn't into helis. So again if you think , these quads are for non flyers why are you here? Why don't you strap a Gopro on one of your 3D upside down flying helis ? Maybe your getting old ? Give ya some Viagra so you can get that OL heli Up again ! :D

Ok I feel better now you busted my balls and I busted yours , I feel better now and I'm sure you do..
Wanna shake on it ? Itbwas fun. Sorry about the first post, bad day plus I've seen that same typ of post a dozen times on this forum
About strapping on a gopro.

This is simply not true. Even at 1080p/30 (Protune off) the video from the GoPro is superior. That's a fact not an opinion.

then there is 1080p/60 on the GoPro which the Vision+ cannot match...

Yes, but casual fliers won't notice the difference for what they need.
Don't get me wrong, I know that the GoPro is the superior solution (It's what I have myself) but for the vast majority of users, the Vision+ camera is good enough and the benefits of having an all-in-one solution with the ability to start / stop video, and take pictures while in the air outweigh the disadvantages.

+1
gets my vote for a sticky.

I am doing more and more property shoots. My main bird is an F550 with a GoPro. However, I always have a PV+ with me as a backup. One job, the backyard was so small I had to fly between trees with only inches on either side of the PV+, there was no way I could fly the hexa in there. Yesterday, the gimbal on the hexa decided not to cooperate and I pulled out the PV+. The following video was done entirely with the PV+ (small amount of post processing, but no more than I would do with GoPro footage) and I have to say the video looks remarkable.

Kgarrison, beautiful video! If you don't mind me asking could you tell me what video setting you were using on your PV+?

If you want to shoot any stills, the GoPro is worthless though. Who wants to fly their camera on rapid fire and edit through hundreds of shots, not me! I've seen both and the Vision+ video is pretty good. Until there is a way to use app and snap stills with app, the Vision+ is superior.

What you are saying is, the 1080/60 on the goGoPro is better quality then the 1080/60 on the vision+???

The Vision can't capture at 1080p60. Even watching 1080p/30 it's clear that the Vision is lacking by comparison.

Here's a pretty comprehensive run down of the video limitations :
