Does everyone use a gimbal lock when transporting their Phantom in a car? I'm relatively new to drone scene and was curious as to how delicate the gimbal actually is? Can it take bumps while riding in a vehicle or should there always be a gimbal lock on?

I always put mine on when transporting my Phantom in a vehicle. Considering that it only takes about 10 seconds to put it on, it's not really worth the risk of damaging it.

The roads in this capital city are terrible. I used to make a joke, "Drive across the city once, and you need a wheel alignment." That should give you a clue. Yes, protect your investment...

I all ways put mine on even when not transporting. They break VERY easily. I get them all the time for repair and it was not always from a crash.

how many have actually broke or damaged the gimbal installing the gimbal lock?

Me too I always fit it... only takes a sec.. :)

Always here.

Always on gimbal lock

Never on foam piece

Bought a couple of these last week on eBay. Much easier to put on than the clear plastic thing that comes from DJI in my opion..
