Gamble/camera noob question

Do u guys put the gimble guard back on when you transport your drone?

I have a case and only go from house to car and back. No heavy traveling

I do every time, even the foam piece and I have the DJI hard case.

Its not needed at all in your case. Only good when travelling because that would mean a harsh treatment at the airport etc.. In your case the. Phantom is secured and it wont fall around in your car. Zenmuse h3-3D for example never had such shippings locks. When you have a case and always level it and handle it with care you dont need it. I never used such a clamp in 3 years. Using the foam will probably stress the gimbal more than without with the constant on and off procedure

Nah Im careful actually. I do it for the fact that I do take it out and put it on my table in my shop. Never know what could happen. Ill keep using my foam piece. I don't man handle it putting it back on and it only takes a second.

It's a good idea to always reinstall the gimbal lock before transporting it somewhere (even in a car).
