FPVLR Stage 4 Antennas New Record - 3.1 Miles, 16469ft, 5km

Hi All,

Had a great flight the other day, managing 3.1 miles with my Phantom 2 Vision+

Couldn't have done it without Tony's amazing antennas - pure quality they are!!

This was with only the 2.4Ghz booster as well (battery issue, new one on the way)!

Ordering one now!!! I've been waiting to mod mine I've only had my PV2+ for a couple weeks and already want more distance. This is perfect. Awesome kit.

Congratulations!
'Bout time someone documented 5km with this kit.
Now it's time to document 6km since the guy who did 6km with the phantom vision (non plus)
didn't have dashware or flytrex.

that video is for the bir'ds side,
you can just search for FPVLR on youtube to find 3-4 install video for the pilot's side (extender and rc transmitter)

That's fantastic! I've only had my Vision 2 for about a month now, but I'm already starting to get the antenna upgrade urge. I hear a Stage 2 kit calling my name soon I think (for starters )

Stage 2 is a great start and you should easily be able to get 8000ft if there's no interference.

absolutely! Stage 2 is the perfect starting place when the long range bug bites.....

It was a combination of Flytrex Live for the telemetry data http://www.flytrex.com/shop/ (though a cheaper Core v2 will work just as well), Dashware to combine the video and data, and the actual dashboard you see in the video was created by rrmccabe which he kindly emailed me (I can sent it on to you too with his permission).

That would be great. if you can . I am guessing that the Flytrex Live will just plug into the on the drone side and I will pick up the file after I land?

Send me a PM with your email and I'll forward it on.

Flytrex Live transmits telemetry data using a GPRS data connection on the phone network during a live flight, though I've heard that it doesn't work too well in the US where 2G is more limited. However there is a mission uploader tool if your flight is somewhere with no signal. Once data is uploaded, you then grab the data from Flytrex's website.

Both the Live and Core v2 plugs in-between the GPS connection cable, with the Live needing it's power cables soldered to the board.

I'm still waiting for decent weather to try this out - not had a day when there's been very little wind and no rain when I'm free yet...
