Force Android to reconnect WiFi faster after losing signal

After losing WiFi signal, Android sometimes takes a while to reconnect to the WiFi even after it is back in range. Is there a way to force Android to continuously scan until it connects with a known WiFi. Currently it scans every so often I believe in order to save battery.

Make sure in the advanced settings that "smart network switch" (or something similar) isn't checked. That's what Samsung called it anyway. Pretty much it tells the phone to only connect if the signal is strong.

Another option might be to setup the quad to not lose reception to begin with.

Doesn't the phone connect to the WiFi repeater? Shouldn't it stay connected to that all the time, even if the repeater loses connection to the Phantom? It should notify the phone that it has lost connection to the Phantom, but should still be connected to the repeater. That way as soon as the repeater regains connection with the Phantom, it would immediately regain connection to the phone, no lag time at all.

Correct

But that's not what happens. When the repeater loses connection with the Phantom, it shuts off the WiFi SSID that the phone connects to. This causes the phone to have to scan for the wifi, reconnect, get ip address etc again, which takes time.

Here is a way to change the scan interval in Android. Would be nice if it could be temporarily done via in one of the Booster apps. WiFi Scanner Apps constantly scan WiFi so I would assume the Booster Apps could do the same.
