Hey all

Will be flying tomorrow over frozen lake, pretty close to the ice.
i know that when flying over water vps better be off. Which i dont exactly know why. But What about frozen water, ice? Should vps be off as well?

Anything else to consider?

The problem with water is that the VPS has trouble triangulating the signals when the surface structure in the view isn't well defined. Also, water can absorb the sonar signal reducing the return and accuracy. Snow and ice could present the same 'featureless' targets.
