After getting only 600FT or so of video signal, I decided to mod the range extender with the TP-LINK TL-ANT2408CL. I just did my first test and was able to reach 1200FT distance at about 200FT altitude. I probably could of went farther but it was very windy. Not bad for a $10.00 mod.
As many others have done, I used a Mini PCI to RP-SMA Pigtail mounted through the side of the extender externally so that I can easily try different antenna's. I have a TL-ANT2414A that I am also going to experiment with once the weather improves.
