firmware update

Greetings, new pilot here, I noticed on the DJI videos that when you turn on your control, it
should beep and turn green.
My controller is red and stays red with no beeps. ??? (normal?)
Also, I upgraded the firmware, then tried to fly and and it immediately swerved right, I powered down and
it tipped on its side.
Do I need to do anything with the controller?
I flew yesterday with no problems, I upgraded and now probs...

Make sure that after an upgrade that you check the RC settings. You need to be in dBus. Also I always, do the advanced IMU calibration before I fly along with the compass calibration when you go to the field to fly. Read the manual several times along with the posts in these threads. They will help you immensely.
