Took my brand new in the box P4 up for a flight yesterday and perhaps I don't remember, but don't recall having to update firmware to either my remote or the drone. Aircraft firmware was 01.01.041 and remote was 1.6.0.

Made more flights today (using other batteries) and got prompted to upgrade both to 1.02.0602 for the drone and 1.8.0 for the TX.

Why didn't I get asked to update this yesterday via the app? Was it the new batteries that prompted the updates? If so, that wouldn't explain the TX updating today. Thank you!

The identification of, and prompt to, update firmware comes from the DJIGO app which checks back with DJI servers periodically. (Unknown how frequent this is). Battery firmware check is done by DJIGO app too and if older version as yours was, may well invoke a further check back with servers on all firmware (Phantom, RC and battery).

Ps Phantom flies better if removed from box before flight too [emoji6]
