I was flying my P3A. After using DJI Go to make sure everything was ok, I started Map Pilot with a 30 acre mission to take about 300 photos. (I have done this successfully 30+ times.) The phantom rose to 250 feet, flew about 1100 ft to the start of the mission. It turned to start the run and just fell out of the sky. I was holding the controller steady on the hood of the truck pointed at the phantom.I did not have time or the reactions to change to F to P on the controller. To be honest, I was trying to check the monitor and my spotter watched it falling. The camera, gimbal, and landing struts were destroyed. I found the drone using the monitor. It had not taken any photos.
The only possible reason I could guess was that it was very hot (over 100 degrees.) I had kept the drone and batteries in an airconditioned truck until launching. We had driven 2 hours to the site, and then set GCP. I guess next time I would return when it was cooler.
Any thoughts?

I checked the flight logs and the only unusual activity was sudden compass turn rate of as high as 172.3 degrees per 0.1 seconds and loss of elevation until it hit the ground. Looks like I hit something or the compass went crazy.

Yes and yes. I am pretty sure that it was a motor failure. The motor is frozen. Still trying to get the log out of the phantom.

You could post the DAT file. That will show quite a lot of telemetry data and possibly explain the crash.
Here is how to retrieve them. Retrieving a .DAT from the P3
Once you have the FLYXXX.DAT of the day you crashed you Upload them in dropbox or googledrive and post the link here so it can be checked by some of us.

I was flying using Map Pilot, an aerial photo management program from DronesMadeEasy. I am attaching the compressed log file from that event. There is no DJI Go file. I tried to get the DAT file from the drone but DJI Go is not connecting to the drone . I am not able to access anything from the USB connection. I have installed the DJI drivers. The crash occurred after 1'16". I was in F mode and watching the monitor. I did not touch the controls. I had a full battery installed. It was a very warm day.

The gimbal was snapped off, one leg is bent, camera destroyed, the sensor and HDMI unit is damaged, and one motor only turns in one direction. Drone was purchased January 11, 2016.
