Feiyutech Mini 3D pRO 3 Axis Gimbal

Just picked up the Feiyutech Mini 3D pRO 3 Axis Gimbal. First of all I'm a flyer not a tech wiz. Need some help figuring out how to get power to the gimbal. I have a Phantom Vision 2, pictured below the stock camera power connection coming from the board, and the connection array for the gimbal itself. My question, can i simple splice the red and black wires together to get power, or is there a better way. Thanks in advance

It seems to me you'd want to use the power that goes to the gimbal rather than the power that goes to the camera. But I know very little. The duty expert on this P2V gimbal stuff is called J Dot. I'd wait for his advice.
