FC40 Control Distances

I have a stock FC40 (more or less) but interested how I can test/check controller-to-AC distances before the various failsafes kick in. Notwithstanding line-of-sight limitations, what can I realistically expect to achieve?

If you're in the states, looks like 800 meters - on par with the P2V+

I've reached 1100 metres with my FC40 a couple of times. But be careful to keep it within line of sight, as failsafe is temperamental at times according to posts.

That's about what I've gotten too, 750-800 meters. I'm sure it's set for rth, but the last time I exceeded that distance it just landed. Fortunately my tracker showed me where to look.
