Re: Mystery of the FC40's camera holes (project started)

The holes are were they WERE planing to put a mic in as they originally intended on the fc40 camera and as the early literature and advertising for it suggests. Then they changed there mind before the fc40 was released and they opted to drop the sound recording so they would not have to sacrifice video bandwidth to be used to record the sound of propellers.

Tho If you guys really want to wrap your head around a big mystery that so far no ones come up with even a good plausible explanation for what the heck the tiny pcs of white string is for that comes in the pack with the extra screws.extra landing gear pads and the stickers.

I definitively figured out exactly what that pcs of sting is for last week. and its actually pretty handy tho any other small short pcs of thin string works. I give it a bit to see if any one else has figured out what the sting is for any why they include it. Before I blurt out the answer. But I'll give a big hint. 1 its used as a tool and it helps with getting the white rubber shock mounts in place for the camera frame.

Wrap the string around the vibration isolator and use it to pull into place. Old car repair trick for intalling rubber grommets

BINGO!!!!! we have a winner.

and its very good at getting the grommets in with no fuss. The same also works with a pcs of rope to install a grommeted window in cars and vans.

I think you're right, on the front of the board, there's a white circle with small holes inside were something like a small mic was/can be installed. I probably didn't solve any mysteries, but I did take a ton of pictures for anybody curious about the insides of their camera. I'll post them once I get home.

As for the string, I really don't remember seeing any, and I don't think I got extra landing gear pads either. Then again it was a while ago since my last unboxing so I'm sure I overlooked it.

Re: Mystery of the FC40's camera holes (pics coming soon)

The string is meant to be used as a tether for your first couple flights...

I'm looking forward to seeing the guts of the camera Kitari. Thanks
