FC 40 setup

In setting up my new FC-40, I ran into this problem.
The last USB device connected to this computer malfunctioned and windows does not recognise it. I use Windows 8.1 64 bit
Any help is appreciated.

Did you install the WIN driver from DJI?

I will go back and check
The DJI software rejects the installation of the updated driver

try looking in your control panel in the programs and features section for the DJI programs. if they are there, uninstall them. go to the DJI website and reinstall them. hopefully that will be different.
