It's not being silly. Oculus already had the funds. With Facebook entering the picture the path this VR set will take is a path most of the followers did not want to follow.
I for one will not be purchasing it, but instead go to one of Oculus' competitors. On top of that, I don't want to have to sign in to Facebook to gain access to features. I deleted that account a long time ago and never plan on returning.
