Extracting data from p3a

I was attempting to retrieve flight data and download to a computer. Something not right. Says I entered flight data mode via controller but can't find anything on computer. Do you have to pay for and download the log viewer i have read about??? Before data retrieval can be obtIned???

Which data set are you trying to retrieve? Device files or the aircraft .dat files?

I'm not sure just plugged bird in connected to the computer via USB cord and nothing happened. Want to see flight logs. Guess I just need to retry again after reading the instructions one more time. The above mentioned log viewer I assume need to be downloaded to computer prior to the attempt on my part again???

This is for the aircraft files. The device files are much easier, if you follow the link as posted above.
