Erratic Gimbal

That is probably the issue. She sounds like a motor is grinding. When powered off, does the gimbal and camera move smoothly when you rotate each axis through its full range of motion? Is one of the axis binding? I suspect either the gimbal strut or a bent motorshaft.

Yes, it moves freely when powered down. We just did a test flight, and it seemed to be functioning ok for the first minute or 2, then it starting moving erratically during flight, just as it shows in the video I posted.

It doesn't seem to take much of a bend or deflection to throw off the gimbal controller and cause the behavior you are experiencing. Look closely at the main gimbal strut. It is relatively soft. It is bent or twisted? Some have reported carefully bending the strut back into correct alignment eliminated similar behavior.

My one week old Phantom 2 Vision+ has some sort of gimbal issue that seems to have arrived when I upgraded the firmware from 3.0 to 3.04. It will make a terrible whining noise and vibrate somewhat randomly when stabilizing and when it does this it is usually followed by a hard full tilt to the left before correcting itself.

The Phantom flies fine and it records fine except for when that activity rears its ugly head and makes my videos look stupid.

I've contacted my dealer and he has forward the info to DJI. Haven't heard anything yet.
