Encryption

Seeing posts about police etc knocking on the door. I use encryption on my computer and all USB drives. The system I use is Veracrypt.it is open source and free. I download all video files from the drone to the laptop and then copy to the encrypted drive finally formatting the micro sd card and replacing it in the Phantom. This way anyone reports you and plod calls there is no evidence.

How about the flight logs on the Phantom's internal memory card? There will be plenty of evidence of what you've done stored there.

Additionally, formatting your SD card is hardly erasing any damning evidence...

Unless you do a DBAN on it... if you even can do that on SD cards...

Yes, but with fresh evidence.

If you're that paranoid you'll need to use software that will overwrite the data, ideally a few times.

Seems tedious and unnecessary.
