Editing hours of 4k footage

I need to go through hours of 4k (non audio) underwater footage to find my edit points.
Now I can speed up the play 2x. I would like to achieve quicker playback hopefully 4x.
Any ideas without changing my computer or using editing software? Any other player?

Probably an editor that works in proxies (like Premier Elements or Movie Studio) and allows you to move the edit head on the timeline would do what you want. In Vegas and Movie Studio (both of which I use) in the lower left hand area below the time line you can speed up viewing on the time line u to 20x faster. I believe that on the Magix web site and Adobe site you can download trials.

Took me about 3 hours to sift through 2 weeks footage and make this yesterday in FCPX.It has a slider so i can skip though clips to find the bits i want and then cut them.
