Droning in central Alaska??

Going to Fairbanks this summer. Getting pretty high in latitude, magnetic variation 21'. Have any of you flown in such high latitudes, about 2000 miles from the north pole. Clearly you have to recalibrate your compass. Does the GPS nav work OK? Thanks

Decination will be 19 or so degrees. If it's a P2, you can expect a fair amount of TBE and hooking but being in NorCal you would already see some of that. Otherwise, it shouldn't be any different.
