Dronexpert brushless gimbal

I'm having trouble getting this gimbal to operate properly. The gimbal tilts smoothly upwards and is steady if horizontal.

As soon as I tilt it downwards it becomes jittery and freezes. I specifically bought this product to tilt the camera 90 degrees downwards to photograph buildings.

The settings panel in the installation manual differs from DJI Phantom 2 Vision Assistant 3.8.

Can anyone assist ?

I do know you need to be in Naza mode when you set up the gimbal. Not Phantom mode.
