So many Phantoms were out at Newport Beach Wedge this week to catch the big surf

Notice one guy is smart and brings his Phantom back over sand, while the other pilot leaves his out there with a low flying large helicopter. Live and learn. Look at the face of the wave at :56 seconds LOL

Watch closely as other Phantoms almost collide in this video

But nothing bad happened in either of these videos...?
This is some sick footage.

I have to say.... if you see a coast guard heli (or any heli for that matter) bring your Phantom back ASAP... you're just asking for trouble.,

Did you watch the first video?

The first video something bad happens. If you own the Phantom plunging into the surf at :56 ... It's bad. But it's his own fault for not coning in sooner.

pretty wild how many Phantom's are out there,. but no surprise, Phantom's just keep on getting more popular.

But definitely seemed like the coast guard copter flew under 400ft as well

Wow, that really sucks for the loss.

But it's 1000%'s fault of the Phantom operator on that one. That seriously broke like at least three AMA codes. :?

I'm thinking the pilot for sure tried to get away from the water and the helicopter, but the huge mistake was getting caught in the helicopters downward wind which pretty much lead to its eventual demise. :|
