DJI Phantom Vision+ camera interference

I would like to hear for a few people who have done this, looking at the sat predictor I only have 8-9 commonly in the next few days and during my times I cam fly, so far I have never seen more than 7 briefly and dropped 1 or 2 in the air and lost lock 2 out of 3 flights. Able to land but all having every assistant available is desirable.

Just go read the thread posted above. You will hear from dozens and dozens of people that have done it and their results.

I contacted DJI. Will let you know their response when it arrives..

Talk to you after Christmas

I used 3M adhesive aluminum foil and it improved my GPS reception. I had a hard time locking 6, but now I lock 6 to 8 and 12 in flight.

I did this And Havent Real Seen any MAJOR improvement in the Foil Fix

Did you tuck the GPS cable under the copper shielding and then apply the foil mod?
Tucking the cable under the copper is critical.

I did this mod to my P2V+ this afternoon using self-adhesive aluminium foil and Mylar parcel-tape over the top for insulation. I tucked the cable under the existing shield and also shielded the remaining short length of exposed cable.

It has made quite a difference. Much faster satellite acquisition and no loss of sats whatsoever when I start recording video. I would definitely recommend this mod.

Dear Tim,

Thank you for contacting DJI.

We have reviewed your inquiry and have determined the following from your email. It seems as though your GPS unit and Compass are not in agreement of which way North is. This is usually caused because a user does not calibrate their unit according to the locations Magnetic Declination. You will need to Google your locations magnetic declination to calibrate the unit to true North.

You can find Apps for iPhone, Android, and Windows below:

Magnetic Declination on the App Store on iTunes:

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/magneti ... 18318?mt=8

Magnetic Declination for Android:

http://www.appszoom.com/android_applica ... eclination

Magnetic Declination App for Windows:

Once you have completed your correct calibration the unit should fly as designed.

Thank you for choosing DJI,
