At Xmas I was given a Phantom1. I have flown it maybe 20 times and have a spare genuine DJI battery. Therefore I have probably used the charger 20 times. Whilst using it the other day there was a loud pop and a puff of smoke and all the leds went out. I enquired as to whether it was covered by warranty with the people it was purchased from to be told batteries AND chargers were only covered for 3 months, is this the case? They said it was due to battery being discharged below normal level causing charger to become damaged.
I got an avionics tech at work to have a look at it. On investigation he said the charger side of the box was fine it was the transformer part that had blown and there was no way this could be mis used. Anyone else had any issues and were they resolved under warranty.
