Has anybody been to the touring DJI Aerial Photography Academy? I'm looking for opinions on how legitimate the class is before I decide to travel 5 hours for it.

Well, I read over their website. The price seems reasonable and gr I up size of around 35 doesn't sound bad. Though one couldn't expect much one on one, it any at all. I don't think the pros will present material that hasn't been well covered online, but it may be the the right perspective for yor learning style. I was surprised to find there is no coverage of videography.
I just came back from the latest held in Philadelphia PA. Bottom line is, if you're a photographer who know anything about shooting on Manual, shooting brackets, and using Lightroom, then don't bother. And if you're a DJI drone owner who feels competent with the DJI Go app, then don't bother. Aside from a few coupons to sponsor sites, I didn't gain any more knowledge than I could have picked up on You Tube. I kept waiting for them to tell me something I didn't know already. And I've only been flying drones since April.
