DIY range extenders

Well to be honest I was doing this 4 years ago with a FC40 .
There are way better ways now with all the 3d printers out there if you want
to go with a wind surfer .

Hey I have even put turkey pans behind my itelite panels . Don't hurt to try anything :)

In order to redirect the signal you need a parabolic (shape) reflector, the precision of the curve is important.
A cylindrical shape will bounce the signal back to the antenna.
Parabolic reflectors are cheap online, good ones for around 15 bucks.

That's exactly why I'd be more comfortable purchasing proper made one's

That looks like a P3S controller. Putting a proper windsurfer on there will help the control signal but do nothing for the FPV since the FPV antenna is a patch hidden inside the controller. If you want to make one yourself, use this one which is a proven design: Ez-12
