My experience with those type of lamps is that they get too hot and melt the glue that holds them to the AC. You really need one that blinks which gives it the opportunity to cool between flashes.
Interesting, I have not had this LED get that hot even after a 15 minute flight. The LED is affixed with velcro and have had no issues.
Okay, well maybe one single lamp won't get hot. My experience was with this one:

Oh no, I use two single LEDs connected to a 9 volt battery and it never gets hot.
