When I was removing the GPS from the shell - I accidentally damaged the end connector in the process.

Can someone please direct me where I could find a replacement connector piece?

Thank you in advance

Connector is a molex ( 51021-0500 )

The pins inside connector are ( 50079-8000 )

Again,
You will need the crimpers ( Engineer PA-09 connector plyers )

Hope this helps
Those are at DIGIKEY, plyers on eBay.

Go to Frys, you might find a similar one with all the needed tools.

I have replaced the connector with a new ribbon but when soldering - one of these purple things (resistors?) fell off in the process.

What are these called and where can I find a replacement for one?

Those look like resistors,
If you can take a better closeup of one maybe with macro lens, you can see what resistance it is on the top, sometimes letters/numbers, other times color tells the resistance.
Any company like:
1) Digi-key
2) Mouser
3) Newark element 14
Send them the picture, and they will reply with part number

Option 2
Try to buy a BROKEN unit for cheap to RESOURCE, that part!

Hope this helps
