Hey everyone,

I just bought a P3P and have been reading for days on how all of you are crashing so I don't make the same mistake :) ! One thing I see over and over is Phantoms "dropping out of the sky", which people later realize is an erroneous CSC.

I'm thinking this could be trivially fixed in firmware by requiring a third button press, preferably a trigger finger button in addition to the control stick patterns. I'm certain this would prevent most every CSC error. What are everyone's thoughts?

It is a frequent concern of new owners.
Once you begin to fly you will better understand the elegance of it.

CSC is common technique used to expand the functions of just 4 channels.

It provides an emergency or E-stop function.
This is an important safety feature.

"All of you are crashing", "over and over".

I'm aware of two, maybe three, cases where someone did it.

It wasn't an issue before, still isn't.

I never said all of you were crashing due to CSC. It was a lighthearted remark at the dozens of "I crashed" posts I see every week / month.

You're not likely to do one in normal flight.

You also will not kill the motors by holding the throttle all the way down while you're in the air. :D

It's really a non-issue. CSC has been this way on rotor craft forever and there is no reason to change it. There is a near zero chance you will preform a CSC in the air without intending to do it.
Go fly, be happy! :)
