Correct Ipad to use

I am wanting to fly the Phantom via an ipad.
I heard the ipad mini was good to use. I just want to verify that I can use this before I buy it as seen:
This ipad is compatible with the Phantom 3, correct?

Has to be at least a mini 2 with 1 gig of ram or it wont work correctly

Im trying to decide between a mini 4 and ipad air 2. Not sure i want that big of screen though. Howd everyone else feel? Bigger the better?

The iPad Mini 3 is compatible. However, it has the same processor as the iPad Mini 2, so you'll save a few bucks by getting that instead. Or, get the iPad Mini 4 if you want the best available iPad Mini. It has a faster processor and a brighter screen.

The size of the iPad Mini seems perfect to me. Some people love larger tablets though.

I am using the iPad mini 4 w/cell. Works great and the screen is visible even in the desert sun. That seems to be the biggest complaint with most tablets.

I was planning on putting in the back seat of the car for the occasional road trip, under a beach towel. Definitely not designed for airline travel!
